ORDINANCE NO. 53
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING INTO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF CHOUDRANT, LOUISIANA, THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY, TO-WIT:
The property described on Exhibit A which is made a part of this Ordinance as fully as if set forth in full and which is signed by the Clerk and Mayor for identification with the Ordinance.
“WHEREAS”, a petition was received by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen requesting the annexation into the corporate limits of the Village of Choudrant, Louisiana of the hereinafter described property;
“WHEREAS”, the Lincoln Parish Tax Assessor and the Lincoln Parish Registrar of Voters certified that the petition was signed by the requisite number of property owners and registered voters;
“WHEREAS”, due notice of the receipt of the petition was given as required by R.S. 33:172, and no request was made by anyone for a hearing; and
“WHEREAS”, notice of the introduction of this Ordinance has been given in the form and manner required by law and all legal requisites complied with;
“NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE VILLAGE OF CHOUDRANT, LOUISIANA, IN REGULAR SESSION CONVENED: “
Section 1: The following described property is hereby annexed into the corporate limits of the Village of Choudrant, Louisiana, to-wit:
The property described on Exhibit A which is attached to and made a part of this Ordinance and which Exhibit A is signed by the Clerk and the Mayor to identify it with the Ordinance.
This Ordinance was adopted by the following yea and nay vote on roll call on this the 3 rd day of September, 1991.

EXHIBIT “A”
Commencing at the Southwest corner of Section 19, Township 18 North, Range 1 West, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, thence run East along the South boundary of said Section 19 to the Southeast corner of said Section 19; thence run North along the East boundary of said Section 19 to the center of the railroad tract; thence run in a Southeasterly direction along the center of the railroad tract to a point on the East boundary of the Southwest Quarter of Southwest Quarter of Section 20, Township 18 North, Range 1 West; thence run North along the East line of the West ¼ of said Section 20 to a point on the South right-of-way line of the Interstate Highway No. 20; thence run in a Northwesterly direction along said South right-of-way to a point on the West boundary of the Northwest Quarter of Northeast Quarter of Section 24, Township 18 North, Range 2 West; thence run South along the West boundary of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 24 to a point that is 800 feet North of the center line of U.S. Highway No. 80; thence run in a Northwesterly direction parallel to and 800 feet North of said U.S. Highway No. 80 to a point on the West boundary of said Section 24; thence run South along said West boundary to a point 800 feet South of the center line of said U.S. Highway No. 80; thence run in a Southeasterly direction parallel to and 800 feet South of said U.S. Highway No. 80 to a point on the West boundary of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 24; thence run South along said West boundary to a point in the center of the railroad tract; thence run in a Southeasterly direction along said railroad to a point on the West boundary of the East ½ of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 24; thence run South along said West boundary to a point on the South boundary of said Section 24; thence run East along said South boundary back to the point-of-beginning;

A certain tract of land in the SW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 18, and in the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ and the NW ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 19, all in Township 18 North, Range 1 West, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, said tract being more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Commencing at a 2 inch iron pipe set by Henry Mossinger, P.L.S., marking the NE corner of said Section 19, proceed thence S0 23’ 19” W along the East line of said Section 19 a distance of 845.94 feet to a 2 inch iron pipe set by Mr. Mossinger; thence continue S0 23’ 19” W along the East line of said Section 19 a distance of 10.00 feet to a point on the Northerly right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 20; proceed thence N79 45’40”W along the Northerly right-of-way line of said highway a distance of 997.29 feet to a ½ inch iron pipe marking the POINT OF BEGINNING; thence proceed N33 59’57”W a distance of 1073.90 feet to a ½ inch iron pipe; thence proceed N30 46’02”E a distance of 195.89 feet to a ¾ inch iron pipe in a fence line marking the Northeasterly or most Easterly corner of the 1.5 acre tract of land acquired by David Lamar Spillers as per deed of Conveyance Book 160, page 275 of the records of Lincoln Parish, Louisiana and as shown on plat for boundary agreement in Conveyance Book 313, page 212 of the records of said parish; thence proceed S36 30’58”W (Called S45 50’W) parallel to Louisiana State Highway No. 145 and along the Easterly or Southeasterly line of said Spillers tract a distance of 150.00 feet to a ½ inch iron pipe marking the Southeasterly or most Southerly corner of said Spillers tract and the Northeasterly or most Easterly corner of that 0.5 acre tract of land acquired by David Lamar Spillers as per deed in Conveyance Book 200, page 825 of the records of said parish and as shown on the aforementioned plat for boundary agreement; thence proceed S42 08’30”W (Called S45 50’W) parallel to said Highway No. 145 and along the Easterly or Southeasterly line of said Spillers tract a distance of 50.00 feet to a point in a pond; thence proceed N64 41’26”W (Called N65 00’W) a distance of 387.00 feet (Called 380.36 feet, more or less) along the Southerly or Southwesterly line of said Spillers tract to a ½ inch pipe on the Easterly or Southeasterly right-of-way line of said Highway No. 145 (100’ wide right-of-way); thence proceed S43 19’53”W along said right-of-way a distance of 144.45 feet; thence proceed S46 00’00”W along said right-of-way a distance of 48.00 feet; thence proceed S44 41’23”W along said right-of-way a distance of 99.38 feet; thence proceed S42 54’23”W along said right-of-way a distance of 98.39 feet; thence proceed S35 51’38”W along said right of way a distance of 100.37 feet to a concrete monument on the Northerly right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 20; thence proceed S53 45’40”E along said right-of-way a distance of 167.29 feet; thence proceed Southeasterly along the curving right-of-way line of said highway a distance of 191.06 feet, said curve being a curve to the right having a radius of 267.0 feet and a delta angle of 41 00’; thence proceed S12 45’40” E along said right-of-way a distance of 124.20 feet; thence proceed Southeasterly along the curving right-of-way line of said highway a distance of 178.41 feet, said curve being a curve to the left having a radius of 269.0 feet and a delta angle of 38 00’; thence proceed S77 24’00”E along said right-of-way a distance of 188.74 feet; thence proceed S79 45’40”E along said right-of-way a distance of 773.28 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING; containing 15.38 acres, and being subject to any rights-of-way, easements or servitudes of record or of use

AND LESS AND EXCEPT: Starting point near depot, Village of Choudrant, Incorporation lines commenced at the center of said Village according to Chart on record in Clerk’s Office, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, run South 660 feet, set stake; thence East 30 chains, set stake for Southeast corner of incorporation boundary; thence North 60 chains, set stake for Northeast corner of incorporation boundary; thence West 70 chains, set stake for Northwest corner of incorporation boundary; thence South 60 chains, set stake for Southwest corner of incorporation boundary; thence East 40 chains to first stake, containing 420 acres, more or less. Survey being in Township 18 North, Range 1 and 2 West in Section 19, 24 and 30. The Village being located in the S ½ of SW ¼ of SW ¼, Section 19, Township 18 North, Range 1 West, also small portion in Section 30, Township 18 North, Range 1 West.
